The Momentum Rider Trading System Smashes the Market And Finishes in the Top 1% for a Second Time
Keith Hugenberg just finished in the top 1% again in the 2nd 2011 CNBC Million Dollar Challenge. The Momentum Rider Trading System is obviously not based on lucky trades or a fluke as it smashed the market for the second time this year in the second CNBC Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge Contest. This second contest ran from October 31 to December 2. The final CNBC posted results for graphics were on November 30 as shown below. He finished 6160th out of almost 700,000 other traders worldwide and easily finished in the top 0.9% for the 2nd straight time.
Second Contest Finish in the Top 1%
In the first CNBC contest earlier this year, he finished 4347th out of 700,000 traders to finish in the top 0.6% of all traders.
In this last contest, his portfolio returned over 18% in 22 days (10/31/11 to 11/30/11) for an annualized return of 209% that ended on November 30, 2011. The S&P 500 was actually down 3% during that same time.
This return was generated WITHOUT USING OPTIONS and only a restricted stock list per the contest guidelines. The graph below shows the final portfolio value. It includes $1,066,00 of equity after starting with $900,000 and $100,000 of currency money which was not traded – $1,166,000.

The CNBC Million Dollar Challenge allowed up to 5 different portfolios. Momentum Rider used several different portfolios with completely different strategies. It demonstrates that his portfolios were consistently RANKED IN THE TOP 1% or higher during the duration of the contest.
